The Minister stated that alongside bottled oil, the price of loose (open market) soybean oil will also increase by BDT 4 per liter, selling from BDT 175 to BDT 179.

He attributed the price hike to rising source prices of commodities globally, citing the prevailing international situation.

He added, “We hope our consumers will consider the global situation. This adjustment is also expected to normalize the market’s supply situation compared to before.”
