Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized the necessity of advancing the country by upholding the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
He made this statement on Sunday (May 31) afternoon during an event commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zia.
The Prime Minister stated, “People abroad recognized Bangladesh by the name of Ziaur Rahman. It is common for people to throw stones at a tree that bears fruit. We are striving to govern the country following the path Shaheed Zia envisioned for its progress.”
Tarique Rahman further cautioned, “A very challenging and crucial period lies ahead for the BNP. A lack of vigilance during this time will be detrimental to the nation and its future generations.”
The head of government elaborated, “The BNP’s election manifesto, prior to the February 12 vote, included pledges that must be implemented, reflecting 52 percent of the public’s mandate upon forming the government. Key aspects of the manifesto, such as canal excavation, educational reforms, and an industrial revolution, are currently being pursued. Our work is guided by the principles Ziaur Rahman adopted to advance every sector.”
He also added, “Government success hinges on cooperation in rightful endeavors. Our efforts alone are insufficient; all leaders and activists, from the grassroots level upwards, must achieve their objectives to establish this administration as a successful government in the eyes of the populace.”
