No Administrative Post is Permanent: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated that just as no government is permanent in a democratic system, no administrative position is permanently assigned to anyone.

He made this remark on Monday (May 11) during a keynote address to senior police officials at the ‘Shapla’ Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on the occasion of Police Week 2026.

The Prime Minister emphasized that neither individuals nor governments remain in power forever. He added that this has been proven numerous times by various past events and examples from different countries around the world. Similarly, he also noted that no position in public administration or police administration is permanent.

Addressing the officials, the Prime Minister stated that government or administrative positions are temporary. Therefore, performing assigned duties appropriately and accepting this reality is an integral part of a democratic culture.

He further highlighted the importance of performing state duties while keeping the transient nature of power in mind.
