Bangladesh Creates History with Whitewash Against Pakistan

The Bangladesh National Cricket Team has made history by whitewashing the Pakistan National Cricket Team in a home Test series for the first time. The Tigers secured a 78-run victory in the second and final Test of the two-match series held in Sylhet. Bangladesh had also won the earlier Test in Mirpur.

Chasing a challenging target of 437 runs on the fifth day of the Sylhet Test, Pakistan had scored 317 for 7 wickets by the end of the fourth day. On the final day, they needed 120 more runs, while Bangladesh required just three wickets.

At the start of the day, Mohammad Rizwan and Sajid Khan put up resistance for Pakistan. Their eighth-wicket partnership of over fifty runs created some pressure for Bangladesh. At one point, the visitors even began to dream of victory.

However, Bangladesh’s spinner Taijul Islam struck at a crucial moment. He dismissed Sajid Khan, completing his five-wicket haul. Sajid departed after scoring 28 runs off 36 balls.
