Across the country, 9 people have died due to measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours. Among them, three died from confirmed measles infections, as confirmed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The remaining 6 died with measles symptoms.
This information was provided by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday afternoon (May 9).
According to DGHS data, a total of 61 people have died from confirmed measles since March 15. During the same period, the number of suspected measles-related deaths stands at 291.
Since March 15, 6,979 people have been confirmed to have measles. In the same period, the number of people suspected to have measles is 47,656.
To date, 33,631 people have been admitted to hospitals with suspected measles, and 29,746 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
