Nationwide, 7 more people have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has confirmed that 2 of them died from confirmed measles infection. The remaining 5 died with measles-like symptoms.
This information was announced on Wednesday (May 6) afternoon by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The statement said that in the last 24 hours, the number of suspected measles patients was 1,654.
According to the DGHS, 56 people have died from confirmed measles since March 15. During the same period, the number of suspected measles-related deaths stands at 268.
Since March 15, 6,099 people have been confirmed to have measles. In the same period, the number of suspected measles cases is 44,260.
To date, 30,885 people have been hospitalized with suspected measles, and 27,223 people have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
