Prime Minister Pays Tribute to Language Martyrs at Shaheed Minar

Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has paid tribute to the martyrs of the Language Movement on Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day.

He paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar in the first hour of Ekushey on Saturday (February 21).

During the tribute, a moment of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs. Later, the Prime Minister participated in prayers and a special supplication.

Earlier, President Md. Shahabuddin paid tribute to the martyrs.

Meanwhile, Tareque Rahman, accompanied by his family members, paid tribute at the Shaheed Minar for a second time, on behalf of late President Ziaur Rahman and late former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. His wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman were with him at this time.
