Either a Meaningful Deal with Iran, or No Deal at All: Trump

US President Donald Trump has once again firmly reiterated the United States’ position on Iran’s nuclear program and regional policy. In a post on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’, he stated that any deal with Tehran must be “extremely meaningful” and favorable to US interests; otherwise, there will be no deal.

In his post, Trump further added that if there is a deal with Iran, it will be a “big and meaningful deal”—and if not, no deal is possible. International analysts view his comments as a continuation of Washington’s policy of pressuring Tehran.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also delivered a stern message in a similar tone. He said that the US would either conclude a strong and lasting agreement with Iran or address the situation through different means.

From the Secretary of State’s warning of ‘different means’ and Trump’s subsequent unyielding stance, it is clear that the administration is unwilling to make any concessions to curb Iran’s expanding influence in the Middle East and to control its nuclear ambitions. Following Washington’s tough stance, it now remains to be seen how Iran will react.
