17 More Deaths from Measles and Related Symptoms

In the last 24 hours, 17 more children have died across the country from measles and related symptoms. During the same period, 1,224 new cases of measles and its symptoms have been identified.

This information was reported on Monday (May 25) in the regular report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to DGHS sources, a total of 545 children have died across the country from measles and its symptoms so far. Of these, 87 children died from confirmed measles, while 458 children died with measles symptoms.

Concurrently, 8,719 children have been confirmed (test-proven) to be infected with measles. Additionally, 64,940 children have been admitted to hospitals with measles-like symptoms. The highest number of infections and deaths has been recorded in the Dhaka division, where 231 children have died from measles and its symptoms, and 36,706 children have been infected.

This data covers the period from 8 AM on March 15 to 8 AM on May 25.
